From two brothers and two trucks in a Montréal winter, to Eastern Canada's largest commercial snow removal operation. This is the 15-year story.
In the winter of 2009, our co-founders loaded two second-hand pickup trucks with snow plows they'd welded themselves and knocked on doors in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough. Their pitch was simple: show up, do the job, show up again. Most contractors at the time showed up when it was convenient. The founders showed up when it mattered.
By 2013, they had 18 trucks and their first commercial parking lot contract with a shopping plaza on Rue Jarry. By 2016, they were clearing four city municipal routes and employing 60 full-time operators. They weren't growing because of marketing. They were growing because they didn't miss a storm.
Today, Arctic Force Snow Solutions operates a large commercial fleet across 12 cities in Quebec, Ontario, and the northeastern United States. Our founding team leads operations to this day — same company, same phone number, same answer when it rings at 3 AM on a Wednesday in January.
"In this industry, reliability isn't a selling point — it's the product. Everything else is just trucks and salt."
Arctic Force is founded with 2 retrofitted pickup trucks, 1 commercial contract, and a promise to show up first. They do.
Arctic Force signs its first multi-site commercial contract, covering four shopping plazas across Montréal-Nord. Fleet grows to 18 trucks by year-end.
Arctic Force wins its first municipal tender. Fleet reaches 55 units. A Director of Municipal Relations joins the team, bringing a decade of city procurement experience.
Arctic Force opens its first Ontario depots in Ottawa and Kingston, securing 3 major commercial contracts. Fleet standardizes on a single commercial platform. Samsara GPS fleet tracking implemented company-wide.
Fleet expansion complete. Arctic Force opens first U.S. depots in Burlington, VT and Plattsburgh, NY. Named Fleet Business of the Year by NPTC. ISO 9001 certification achieved.
We show up. Every storm, every site, every time. Our 98.7% on-time rate isn't a marketing number — it's the baseline we hold ourselves to, tracked publicly in every service report.
Zero lost-time incidents across 15 years of operations. Our operators complete 40 hours of annual safety certification. CNESST compliance isn't optional — it's the floor, not the ceiling.
Every service event generates a timestamped GPS log, a photo record, and a material quantity report. If we miss a commitment, we make it right — automatically. No claim process required.
Our scale isn't vanity — it's redundancy. When other contractors hit capacity in a major storm, Arctic Force has reserve units pre-positioned at every depot. Scale is our guarantee.
Arctic Force carries $50 million in commercial general liability coverage — meeting or exceeding the requirements of every municipal, provincial, and federal procurement framework we operate under.
